Georgia Right to Life Celebrates Tomorrow’s Leaders – TODAY!

The Suwanee Library in Suwanee, GA was recently the site of the statewide Georgia Right to Life 2013 Oratory Contest.  On April 20, 2013 Jin Sol Kim, Jinny, won first place in the contest and will represent Georgia Right to Life at the National Right to Life Oratory Contest in Dallas, Texas in June.

Jinny is 17 years old, a resident of Cumming, GA and a student at Pinecrest Academy in Cumming, GA.  In her speech, Jinny detailed her participation in an abortion facility prayer vigil.  Just one small event, she said, would change her life view forever.  As the reality of abortion hit her like a “stone shattering glass”, she knew that she would fight to help stop abortion.

Second Place went to William Smith IV, of Lake Hartwell Right to Life. Speaking out against euthanasia, William argued that euthanasia was a slippery slope leading to legalized murder.  He said that if the argument was about old trees and forests, that the environmentalists would be outraged.  “We are killing the tree of ‘human life’ by euthanizing our elders,” William said.  “We may never know the impact than an individual has on society....all life is important.”

Participants in the contest are high school juniors and seniors who research, write and present an original five to seven minute speech on pro-life topics such as abortion, embryonic stem cell research, infanticide and euthanasia. Having first competed locally, these inspiring students represented chapters from all over the state.

Georgia Right to Life is pleased and proud to sponsor this event each year. Jinny and a guest will enjoy an all-expenses paid trip for her to compete at the national level in Dallas, TX. Good luck, Jinny!

Kudos to each of our participants – our prolife leaders of tomorrow!
