US Supreme Court Refuses to Hear Oklahoma Personhood Case
On Monday (10-29-2012) the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal of Oklahoma Personhood’s free speech case. In doing so, it leaves unchanged that state’s Supreme Court ruling which blocked the organization’s efforts to place a personhood initiative before voters.
Georgia Right to Life President Dan Becker issued the following reaction to the decision.
“The high court’s refusal to hear this appeal is yet another blow to our freedom and constitutional safeguards.
“When the people in Oklahoma or any other state cannot exercise their right to let voters speak, the very foundation of our republic is threatened.
“This unfortunate decision should serve as a wakeup call to pro-life supporters in Georgia and around the nation that we need to elect officials and judges who honor the constitution, as well as the sanctity of life.”
