girl scoutsThere is no question that Girl Scouts of America, GSA, has agrowing relationship with Planned Parenthood. While the majority of GSA councils still try to hide the connection, a few openly admit that it exists.

The link was confirmed in 2004 by then GSA’s CEO Kathy Cloninger who said: “We partner with Planned Parenthood organizations across the country to bring information-based sex education programs to girls. ”  Parents are understandably troubled.

Since the 1960’s, Planned Parenthood has received over $5.5 billion dollars from the American taxpayers.  During that time, non-abortion related programs have been systematically reduced while abortion numbers have continued to climb.  Indeed, Planned Parenthood is ‘big’ business – and abortion is their largest money maker.

As if that is not enough, Planned Parenthood continues to inundate children of all ages with graphic sexual material. In a Waco, TX conference co-sponsored by Planned Parenthood, a book titled, “It’s Perfectly Normal” has been widely distributed to girls as young as ten.  The book celebrates masturbation, features explicit drawings of couples having sex, a boy putting on a condom, lists the top ten reasons for having an abortion and tells kids that abortion can be a “positive experience. ”

In 2010, published reports describe a featured pamphlet, “Healthy, Happy and Hot”, being distributed by Girl Scouts USA at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.  The American Life League has also exposed a video, Hooking Kids on Sex, which begins with explicit props shaped as male and female genitals.  Further, websites like Take Care Down There spew filth at our children with catchy slogans and hip, upbeat designs.

In February 2012 the Girl Scouts of America, GSA, celebrated their 100th anniversary.  Through its membership in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), Girl Scouts of America is part of a worldwide family of 10 million girls and adults in 145 countries.

Fifty million American women have enjoyed Girl Scouting over the years.  Today, more and more concerned parents have had their girls sever ties with the Girl Scouts.  Some find more suitable organizations such asAmerican Heritage Girls.  Some former Girl Scouts have developed a blog about their experiences, Speak Now Girl Scouts.

Sadly, what the Girl Scouts used to be is very different than what they are today thanks to Planned Parenthood.  Concerned parents and citizens need to work together to bring an end to the Girl Scout – Planned Parenthood connection.
