New Faces at Georgia Right to Life

NORCROSS, GA, November 2, 2015­– Nancy Stith, who has served as Georgia Right to Life’s (GRTL) Executive Director since 1999, retired at the end of October.

“I have been so blessed to serve the Lord and this great organization,” Stith said. “I will deeply miss everyone, but am confident GRTL’s most effective years are still ahead.”

Before joining GRTL, Stith spent 15 years working as a financial planner for Ronald Blue and Co. Before that, she spent 10 years with Campus Crusade for Christ.

Stith is replaced by Zemula (Zemmie) Fleck, a Decatur native and longtime pro-life advocate.

Fleck has worked in the field of business management and administration for 27 years. Most of that time, she was the personal assistant to a well known Presbyterian minister in Cumming. In that capacity, Fleck was responsible for the day to day running of the church, preparing various related publications as well as coordinating seminars and conferences.

Fleck says her Christian faith has been a central focus of her family and her views of life.

“I’ve always been an advocate for the pre-born and those with physical and mental challenges,” Fleck said. “I know God has chosen me for this time to serve Him at GRTL.”

In another change, Joshua Edmonds, who has been serving as GRTL’s Director of Education and Technology, has been named the organization’s Director of Education and Legislation, replacing Mike Griffin, who will be serving full-time as Public Affairs Representative for the Georgia Baptist Convention. Griffin will remain with GRTL as he transitions to a position on the Executive Committee.

Edmonds, a former Aide to the Senate Health & Human Services Committee and staffer with the Georgia Department of Human Services, has worked for GRTL since January of 2013.

His involvement in the pro-life movement began as a student at Gainesville State College in 2009.  At that time, he launched Pulse Pro-Life Ministries which allowed him to carry the pro-life message to campuses across the nation.

“When I was brought on at GRTL, they said my job was to change the hearts and minds of our culture to respect and protect the sanctity of human life in Georgia,” Edmonds said. “The next logical step after educating our citizens is to translate those beliefs into legal protection through legislation. I’m excited to build on what Mike has started.”

State Representative Ed Setzler, House Pro-Life Caucus Chairman, praised Edmonds for his new position.

“I can think of no one better than Josh Edmonds to advocate for the sanctity of life at the State Capitol. Josh is a man of peace and a man of deep principle who understands the inner workings of the legislative process,” Setzler said.
