As our culture continues to darken, those who have no regard for the sanctity of human life are uniting.
“I have spent the bulk of my philanthropic career working to improve the lives of women, children, and families.”
Words from a pro-life champion, right? Wrong. They’re from Jill Gordon, a board member of Planned Parenthood of Illinois, commenting on her appointment to the board of directors of the pro-assisted suicide group Compassion and Choices, the former Hemlock Society.
Supporters of assisted suicide and euthanasia have a total disregard for the Personhood of the elderly and infirm. They have no problem actively killing people or just “letting them die” by neglect. Often, this is done despite objections from the person or even their family.
Worse, they are never satisfied and continually push to expand this evil with deceptive lies. Wherever it is legal, supporters are constantly working to expand who is eligible or making it easier, faster, and less expensive.
The latest example is Washington State which is considering legislation that would eliminate most of the so-called “safeguards” included in the 2008 bill that legalized the anti-Personhood practice.
Not satisfied that only 1,200 people have been killed using assisted suicide since the law went into effect in 2009, they now want to gut the promised safeguards so misguided individuals will have less information and less time to make a sound evaluation before ending their life.
The changes would reduce the safeguard waiting period from 15 days to 3, not require a genuine psychological evaluation, and allow lethal drugs to be sent to people’s homes. The current law requires people to receive such drugs in person from a physician or pharmacist.
Ignoring these realities, people like Jill Gordon continue to spread lies about who they are and for what they stand.
“Now I want to dedicate significant time to improving the lives of people near or at the end of life,” she added in a classic example of doublespeak.
In her world, killing people is considered improving their life. What a startling example of calling evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20).
A Twisted View of Life
“Planned Parenthood and Compassion and Choices are tragic examples of the darkness that is spreading in our culture,” said Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) president, Ricardo Davis. “They have a twisted view of the God-given value of human life.”
Gordon, the CEO of a Chicago metropolitan area hair salon company “KidSnips” has donated tens of thousands of dollars to both Planned Parenthood and Compassion and Choices.
Compassion and Choices has been the driving force for the adoption of physician assisted suicide laws in ten states and Washington, D.C. While physician assisted suicide is currently banned in Georgia, a bill that would have legalized it was introduced in 2020.
This latest alliance is a marriage made in hell. It unites those who kill the pre-born and those who have no regard for the elderly and infirm.
Please contact GRTL for resources and be prepared to help family and friends by providing them these resources. You can also help GRTL fight this evil by donating today at www.grtl.org/donate.
