Celebrating Black History; Ignoring Black Genocide

The Life of the Mother LieMarch 2019 – Article 2:

In February the nation celebrated black history month. It’s a time to remember, honor, and commemorate the tremendous accomplishments and sacrifices African-Americans have made to our country.

Without their contributions, America would not be as culturally rich or secure.

What’s ignored, however, is the genocide that continues in the black community where a disproportionate number of children are not safe in their mother’s womb.

“Another year has passed and black leaders and pastors continue to ignore the number one killer of black lives,” explained Georgia Right to Life President Ricardo Davis. “We will never end this tragedy until they face this reality.”

Centers for Disease Control Reports

Nationally, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that nearly half of pregnancies among black women end in abortion.

In New York City, where Planned Parenthood is located, more black babies are aborted than are born.

While not as horrendous as New York City, Georgia’s black abortion rate reflects the national average.

African-Americans constitute 32.2 percent of the state’s population, but represent 62.4 percent of all abortions. By contrast, Caucasians constitute 60.8 percent of the population, but only 24.7 percent of abortions.

Specifically, in 2017, there were 16,662 abortions of black children and 45,526 births. By comparison, 6,203 Caucasian women had an abortion, while 73,976 carried their children to term.

“Planned Parenthood’s founder Margaret Sanger’s plan to eliminate African-American and other minorities is playing out before our eyes,” Davis added

In 1939, Sanger launched her “Negro Project” which targeted minorities for abortion. Today, 79 percent of Planned Parenthood’s facilities are located near African-American and Hispanic communities, 45 percent being within walking distance.

The Rev. Walter Hoye, founder of the Issues for Life Foundation, points out the ominous implications of the black abortion rate.

Black Fertility Rate Below Replacement

Noting that the black fertility rate is well below the replacement rate of 2.1 percent, Hoye says  “…within a few decades, African-Americans will be an endangered species.” GRTL emphasized that fact a few years ago with a billboard campaign.

These alarming facts represent a dramatic change in attitude in the black community.

When the Roe v. Wade ruling was issued in 1973, polling showed that blacks were less likely to support abortion. Civil rights activists such as Fannie Lou Hamer and Whitney Young denounced the procedure as a form of genocide.

Today, black civil rights organizations are in march step with abortion rights advocates like Planned Parenthood. As evidence, a 2017 Pew Research Center survey found that 50 percent of Hispanics, 58 percent of Caucasians and 62 percent of blacks now say abortion should be legal in all or most cases.

Pro-life supporters are encouraged to discuss this issue with friends and neighbors and be in prayer that God touches the hearts of all women, especially black women, causing them to reconsider having abortions.
