All pro-life supporters are encouraged to register and attend the 2018 March for Life and Memorial Service to be held on January 19 at Atlanta’s Liberty Plaza.
Keynote speaker for the event will be Dr. James Merritt, Christian speaker, author and pastor of Cross Pointe Church in Duluth.
The event is intended to express sorrow for the more than 60 million children denied the chance at life, as well as for the women who have had their lives damaged physically and emotionally by abortion.
Families, Friends, Whole Communities Affected
“The blood-stained statistics on abortion remain horrific,” said Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) President Ricardo Davis. “But we need to look past the numbers and see the humanity of each person affected by this tragedy. They’re family members, co-workers, and fellow students and church members.”
Davis also noted the disproportional impact the disregard for the Personhood of pre-born children has on minorities and the poor.
“Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger’s goal of ridding the population of those she considered “unfit” for life is succeeding,” Davis said.
The numbers bear that out. Of the 908,000 children aborted in 2015, 55% were minorities: 36% black and 19% Hispanic. While both groups together account for well over half of all abortions, combined they only represent 31% of the population.
The sad fact is that black women are three times more likely to obtain an abortion than white women. The worst example is New York City where more black babies are aborted than are born in a year.
Overall, the impact of abortion on the black community takes more lives than AIDS, violent crimes, accidents, cancer, and heart disease combined.
A key factor in creating this situation is that 79% of Planned Parenthood’s facilities are located near African American and Hispanic neighborhoods, with 45% of those within walking distance.
Unbelievably, the scourge of abortion also affects the church. According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, one in every five women who gets an abortion identifies as a born-again, evangelical, charismatic, or fundamentalist Christian.
Given the annual number of abortions, that means approximately 200,000 Bible-believing Christian women have an abortion every year. This underscores the growing impact the pagan culture is having on the Christian community, especially the youth.
GRTL provides training and resources for church leaders and members to help in the process of repentance, forgiveness, and restoration. In addition, GRTL can help church leaders with training and offers resources to help them recover and strengthen their congregation’s culture of life.
Human Trafficking Leads to Abortion
Another area that dehumanizes children leading to abortions is human trafficking for sexual exploitation, especially that of children.
Worldwide, an estimated 1.2 million children are enslaved a year for sexual purposes, including 400,000 in the United States.
They are forced to commit sexual acts while living in constant fear for their lives. They are raped, beaten, sliced with razors and threatened.
One study found that of 66 sex trafficking victims, 55% had at least one abortion, with more than 30% of them had multiple abortions.
One survivor said: “At least one of my six abortions was from Planned Parenthood because they didn’t ask any questions.”
Another survivor, whose abuse at the hands of traffickers was particularly brutal, reported 17 abortions and indicated that some of them were forced on her.
And a 15-year-old girl went to Planned Parenthood which, rather than helping her, chose to falsify her medical records classifying the assault as consensual sex.

Whether it’s forced on a helpless victim, or for another reason, abortion is an evil that has this nation in a death grip and that must be broken.
“The blood of those innocent precious children cries out for justice,” Davis said. “I ask all pro-life supporters to join GRTL at the Georgia March for Life, in recommitting to the cause of Personhood–protecting those who can’t protect themselves. Together we can advance Personhood in Georgia through more prayer and teaching on the sanctity of life in our churches; more education in our communities; and more discernment in selecting our representatives in the legislature, law enforcement, and in the courts. We must be united in our message to lawmakers and jurists that we will no longer tolerate abortion on demand in Georgia.”
