Open Letter to President Donald J. Trump to End Federal Involvement in Abortion

This open letter encourages President Trump and calls on him to promote and establish personhood in his administration by ending all Executive Branch involvement in elective abortion. The letter and signatories were sent to President Donald J. Trump on January 20, 2025, Inauguration Day.

Dear Mr. President:

We earnestly congratulate you on your historic electoral victory becoming the 47th President of the United States of America. The Lord has sovereignly placed you in the White House to lead this nation for another term.

We the signers are praying not only for your leadership in executing and enforcing laws, but also for your safety and security. We are praying for your Cabinet as it carries out the day-to-day administration of the federal government and for opportunities to leverage your ordained position of power to recognize, uplift, and protect the sanctity of human life.

Though tremendously blessed by God, the United States is currently in a spiritually dark, rebellious, and morally corrupt era, heavily stained by decades of child sacrifice (elective abortion).

We recognize that God’s kindness to us is a means of leading us to repentance, and that He is calling our nation to repent of and turn away from elective abortion, the sin that has tainted this nation for over 50 years, resulting in the loss of more than sixty-five million innocent lives. We call for repudiation of strategic measures that codify abortion via federal policy and rulemaking, as well as ceasing expenditure of billions of dollars designated to promote anti-life ideologies. All these actions have devastated the state of the natural family, and they imperil the future of our nation just as African chattel slavery did.

Today, chemical abortion pills account for at least 63% of elective abortions nationally with Federal Drug Administration approval. Access to these pills is rapidly increasing across state lines by mail and delivery from other countries. Elective abortion has infiltrated every facet of society, impacting hiring strategies and the labor market, and has significantly stunted the population growth of certain ethnicities, particularly the Black community.

Our government must address these issues in a way that honors personhood beginning with our preborn children, the future of our nation. You have stated numerous times that the federal government should not be involved in elective abortion. Therefore, we implore you to uphold the sanctity of human life by including the following priorities in your term strategies:

  1. Disband the Biden Administration’s Interagency Task Force on Reproductive Healthcare Access and in its place create an Interagency Task Force on Personhood that would assertively advance the paramount right to life of all persons from fertilization to natural death through agency directives and rulemaking.
  2. Rescind all executive orders and agency rules where the federal government is directly or indirectly involved in life-ending actions (LEA) such as elective abortion, infanticide, and embryo experimentation or handling that results in the predetermined and deliberate death of the child, including but not limited to:
    • Revoking funding of LEA through Title X and Medicaid reimbursements
    • Rolling back rulemaking that forces the inclusion of LEA in insurance coverage involving the Affordable Care Act’s so-called non-discrimination or mental health provisions
    • Restoring First Amendment religious and moral exemptions to any mandates forcing involvement in LEA
    • Revoking funds and terminating projects and research administered through health and science departments or other agencies associated with LEA
  3. Veto any and all legislation that provides federal authorization or funding for LEA.
  4. Instruct the Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) to exercise his or her veto power against any UN policy or action involving LEA.
  5. Significantly increase adoption initiatives to families, organizations, and agencies as an alternative to elective abortion.
  6. Pardon all peaceful, non-violent pro-life persons convicted under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, and lobby Congress to fully repeal the FACE Act.

By God’s grace, Mr. President, you can accomplish these goals during your second term. It is critical that Christians stand up for Biblical principles, including valuing every human life as ordained by God, regardless of what political pundits, institutions, media outlets, or popular opinion profess. We commit to stand with you. Our fervent prayer is that our nation turns away from the sinful culture of death, stops the shedding of innocent blood, and obeys the Lord—as our survival as a nation depends on it.

We thank you for your bold service to our country and look forward to what you will do to fight and advance personhood in the Executive Branch by its actions protecting all innocent human life—now and for the future.

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have placed before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.” Deuteronomy 30:19

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” Psalm 33:12a
