August 2020 – Article 2:
Back in 2015, everyone knew they weren’t telling the truth. Despite obvious video evidence to the contrary, the nation’s largest abortion provider denied it made a business of selling aborted baby body parts for profit.
The organization claimed any money it received from organ procurement companies was only to cover “shipping and handling” expenses.
The revelation was the result of an undercover investigation conducted by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) showing various Planned Parenthood officials negotiating the sale price for various baby organs.
The abortion giant went on defense denying the allegation in the media and even in Congressional testimony. Eventually, the organization sued CMP.
That was a mistake. It gave CMP the chance to question Planned Parenthood employees under oath. That questioning was recorded and has now been released.
“Planned Parenthood lied to the public and to Congress” about selling “fetal body parts, commodifying living children in the womb and treating pregnant women like a cash crop,” charged CMP Director David Daleiden.
Daleiden added that the Justice Department should “escalate the enforcement of laws against fetal trafficking to the highest level of priority.”
If the past few years are any indicator, that’s not likely to happen. Efforts to defund Planned Parenthood have gone nowhere. In fact, its latest federal funding increased from $555 million a year to $617 million.
The new video shows Planned Parenthood and organ procurement company representatives telling a different story.
One segment features an official from Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast being shown a proposed contract for the purchase of baby body parts. When the original video was released in 2015, Planned Parenthood told The New York Times that the offer had been rejected.
The latest video reveals the truth. Under oath, the official acknowledged wanting to pursue the deal and communicating that desire to another Planned Parenthood official.
In another part of the video, the claim that money received was only to cover expenses, which federal law allows, is actually not true.
In addition to paying for time and transportation costs, a contract with the biomedical company StemExpress stipulated that payment was contingent on Planned Parenthood providing “usable body parts.”
There were even more shocking revelations.
The video includes testimony from Perrin Larton, Procurement Manager of Advanced Bioscience Resources, Inc. (ABR), which harvests fetal organs and tissues inside Planned Parenthood facilities in southern California and resells them to taxpayer-sponsored researchers across the country.
Ms. Larton testified that “sometimes” a child just “falls out” of a woman there for an abortion as she delivers her baby intact.
She said such a child is still entirely intact when she receives it in the facility’s laboratory, at which point she “will do a dissection to get the tissues that the researchers have requested.”
In a separate development, Judicial Watch recently announced it has received documents from the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) showing that between 2012 and 2018 it entered into eight contracts worth $96,370 with ABR to acquire “fresh and never frozen” tissue from first and second trimester aborted babies for use in creating “humanized mice” for research.
The documents include a June 28, 2017 email exchange between a redacted FDA contract specialist and Ms. Larton of ABR.
“I am tasked with the purchase of tissues suitable for HM [humanized mice] research,” the FDA official wrote. “I would like to request a quote. Please review the Statement of Work and quote your pricing as outlined.” In addition to the “pricing,” the email asks that ABR list the cost of shipping and delivery.
So much for only recovering expenses.
The email asks for quotes to purchase livers and thymuses obtained from aborted children.
“These documents are a horror show,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These records show that the FDA was trafficking in human fetal parts. Incredibly, there continues to be a push to continue these monstrous experiments.
Planned Parenthood is a blood-drenched stain on the conscience of America. Enough of accepting worthless promises to defund this disgrace.
