NORCROSS, GA, October 22, 2015—Ricardo Davis, a longtime pro-life advocate, has been elected the new president of Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) effective November 10, 2015.

Davis, owner of a healthcare information systems consulting firm, replaces Dan Becker. Becker will devote his focus to Personhood Alliance, which GRTL founded in 2014. Personhood Alliance is a Christ-centered organization created to bring the pro-life movement back to its original mission—acknowledging that everyone is created in the image of God and deserves protection.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to lead this great organization,” Davis said. “My goal is to ignite a groundswell of community support for advancing Personhood, the most effective approach to protect all innocent human life at every stage of development and regardless of manner of conception.”

Davis said his efforts would build upon the principled pro-life standards championed by GRTL by increasing activities at the local level.

“GRTL has been the thought leader in protecting innocent human life,” Davis added.  “I welcome the challenge of extending the Personhood narrative in public policy, ethics and the law.”

Becker, who has headed GRTL since 2007, praised Davis for his dedication: “Ricardo shares my vision on how Personhood can restore respect and legal protection for all innocent human life. I’m absolutely confident our cause is in capable hands.”

Davis, the former Director of Information Services for GRTL, also is an advisor to the Personhood Mississippi Board of Directors, and is chairman of the Constitution Party in Georgia.

From 2006 to 2010, Davis served as a campaign consultant to the Paul Broun for Congress Committee. He played a critical role in Broun’s stunning 2007 upset victory for a seat in Congress.

Other new GRTL officers include: Shannon Vogt as vice president; Charles Greenewald as secretary; Linda Powell as treasurer; and Karen LaBarr as GRTL’s representative to Personhood Alliance.

Vogt heads her own law firm; Greenewald is a search consultant for an executive recruitment firm; Powell has served as GRTL’s bookkeeper; and LaBarr has served on GRTL”s board of directors for 10 years.
