Advocating for Personhood in a Culture of Darkness
Personhood In Dark Times - "It is not a far stretch for people who support killing children in the womb to take the logical next step and support killing children out of the womb. And that is exactly the horror that America has been witnessing in light of the Lindsay Clancey trial."
10.26 Baby Cancelled

“[O]n Friday, March 13, 2026, a satanic abortion ritual was performed inside of a Hobby Lobby bathroom.”

This quote is not a joke. It is a statement overlaying the beginning of a recent video released by a Satanic Temple-associated band. The video begins with Christian imagery of the décor within Hobby Lobby, a chain store known for its Christianity, and a woman walking toward the door. As described by Texas Right to Life:

She then walks into the bathroom to enact a satanic “abortion ritual,” where she chants ritualistic phrases, takes the abortion pill to deliver her baby, passes her child while smiling on the toilet, and flushes the child. She then walks out with clips of the Christian merchandise throughout the store set on fire.[1]

“Your ability to choose to terminate a pregnancy is consistent with the ideals of liberty and freedom. Be proud of pursuing what you want for your life despite opposition,” reads the text toward the end of the music video.

Celebrating Murder

Gone are the days of the “safe, legal, and rare” slogans. Abortions are now celebrated, or worse, done ritualistically by Satanists, who have long fought for religious exemptions to continue doing abortions.[2]

In August, a viral Instagram post depicted what looked like a baby announcement photo. Except it wasn’t. The AI-generated photo read “Baby Cancelled. Due date was April 14, 2027” alongside baby blocks, shoes, and even an ultrasound.[3]

While the original poster later claimed the post was a joke,[4] the reality that the post received 239,000 likes and thousands of comments in support of the abortion is beyond disturbing.[5] To put this number in perspective, every city in Georgia other than Atlanta has a population smaller than the number of people who liked that post.[6]

Viral Vitriol

It is not a far stretch for people who support killing children in the womb to take the logical next step and support killing children out of the womb. And that is exactly the horror that America has been witnessing in light of the Lindsay Clancey trial.

In 2023, Lindsay Clancey killed her three children and admitted to it but claimed postpartum psychosis as her defense. During her trial this year, women wearing pink gathered outside of the courtroom to support Clancey,[7] and videos circulated online of women holding their children with captions such as “Same, Lindsay.”[8] There have also been multiple reports of alleged copycat murders by women who followed the Clancey case closely.[9]

Where Sin Abounds…

While the sane people in the world react in shock, the Christian personhood advocate is perhaps not as surprised to see the so-called right to abortion lead to its logical conclusion, which is zero respect for any human life. At its roots, abortion is always demonic, and the demonic is nothing new.

In Mark 9:14-29, a man brings his son to Jesus to be healed because His disciples were unable to cast out the spirit. This particular spirit “often throws him into the fire or into the water, trying to kill him.” When Christ cast out the life-hating demon from the child, the disciples privately asked Our Lord why they could not cast out that one. His reply: “This kind cannot come out, except by prayer.”

While the disciples had previously been casting out demons left and right,[10] it is notable that this is the demon they struggled to cast out: the demon whose aim was to destroy the life of a child. It is certainly the same type of demon that pervades our society today.

While it seems too simple, God has a plan for our prayers, and even in the utter darkness of the anti-life culture in which we live, prayer can still move mountains. In St. Matthew’s version of this event, Jesus responds to why the disciples could not drive out the demons thus: “‘Because you have so little faith,’ He answered. ‘For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.’”[11]

Action Plan

But “faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.”[12] Thus good works must accompany faith and prayer in this spiritual battle against the evil one.

Social media seems so pervasive with media celebrating abortion, but what if there were a way to use social media for the good?

No place is too dark that God’s light cannot shine, even social media. You yourself can share Christian, personhood messaging through social media, and Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) also endeavors to share truth through its social media platforms.[13]

Set a goal to share personhood messaging on your social accounts once a week, or more if you feel so called. If you do not know what to say, share a GRTL post or article to your own page.

Another way to pierce the darkness of the online world is by sharing the website teenbreaks.com with abortion-vulnerable women.

Every month, GRTL delivers up to 125,000 targeted online ads to women ages 16-24, in 674 locations, five counties, to high schools, colleges, coffee shops and health clubs. These ads lead them to Teen Breaks, an engaging and impactful website that shares honest information about abortion alternatives and the consequences of destroying innocent life.

Finally, it is always impactful to share the truth of personhood in real life, not just online. Attend personhood events, such as GRTL’s College Outreaches[14] and the Stand for Life on January 29, 2027.

Your public witness matters. Go in public with your children or grandchildren, talk openly about your love for them, live your life joyfully and people will be attracted to the light of Christ that shines from within you and casts out some of the darkness.
